I will stamp all over 'credible combatant' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua will face the American YouTuber in an eight-bout contest which will be shown live on the streaming platform.

British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the pair met personally to publicize next month's heavyweight fight.

Former two-time world boxing king Anthony Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge disparity - at Miami's venue on 19 December.

Boxer's Mindset

"I will damage his features and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," Joshua, 35, stated.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I will genuinely try to injure him. That's my intention."

Civil Exchange

Despite those words, a calm Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - typically recognized for his theatrics - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul rather attacked ex Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian rejected a fight offer.

Targeting Fury

Anthony Joshua, at the same time, took aim at UK opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul is superior to Tyson Fury - he's present here," the boxer said.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Opponent

In spite of saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he said.

Jake Paul's History

Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has primarily boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.

He lost to British fighter Fury in 2023.

Financial Success

However, the inexperienced fighter is still one of the sport's biggest commercial attractions, consistently making substantial earnings.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28 year old predicted a KO victory in round four or five and claimed he would prevent the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly in the works for 2026.

"It's going to be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul declared.

Size Difference

As both boxers met for the traditional confrontation, with their height and weight contrast evident, it drove home just how unlikely this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is really happening.
