AC Shadows Introduces Bizarre AoT Event for Thanksgiving
In a surprising partnership that challenges usual expectations, the game developer has unveiled an virtual partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising Thanksgiving event operates from November 25 through December 22, including free extra story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Mission Revealed
According to the authorized release, "A strange encounter leads characters Naoe and Yasuke into a original adventure, where whispers of forbidden practices and fearsome transformations resonate through the obscurity." The storyline presents a "oddly garbed woman named Ada" who tasks the characters with venturing into the Crystalline Cavern—a key location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her friend from a hidden sect.
The questline centers on "bizarre experiments and a terrifying enemy" and is available to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Places and Changes
The trailer features the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was formerly where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The teaser ends with a dramatic moment showing a character, presumably the captive, morphing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Prizes and Additional Features
Players who finish the quest will obtain an exclusive katana in addition to numerous objects hidden throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also contains purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-based attire for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Special weapons
- Survey Corps steed
Newest Free Story Addition
This patch also introduces the game's newest no-cost story episode, titled "The Mystery."
